Document extract Seat of the European Investment Bank The seat of the European Investment Bank (EIB) is in Luxembourg. In accordance with Article 1 of the Protocol (No 10) on the Statute of the EIB annexed to the Treaty establishing the European Community, the seat of the Bank is determined by common accord of the governments of the Member States. The Decision of the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States of 8 April 1965 had named Luxembourg as the Bank’s provisional place of work. In accordance with the Statute in force, the Decision taken by common accord of the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States of 12 December 1992 confirmed Luxembourg as the Bank’s permanent seat.
