On 25 February 1949, Robert Bichet, founder of the Nouvelles équipes internationales (New International Teams, NEI) and Vice President of the European Movement, addresses the International Council of the European Movement at its meeting in Brussels and emphasises the important role to be played by the NEI to promote the United States of Europe.
